Celemin Nephro 7% for Patients with Renal Impairments
- 31% BCAA: Improves plasma AA and nutritional status
- 64% EAA: Fulfills EAA requirement
Indications
- Acute and chronic renal insufficiency, in haemofiltration, peritoneal and hemodialysis.
- For the compensation of amino acid losses during and after dialysis or haemofiltration.
- Renal failure following polytrauma, extensive surgery, and sepsis.
- Supplementing a low protein diet in chronic renal failure patients.
Dosage
- 0.5 g of AA/kg body weight/day in acute and chronic renal insufficiency.
- Up to 1 g of AA/kg body weight/day in patients treated by hemodialysis, hemofiltration, or peritoneal dialysis.
Drip Rate
- Should not increase 20 drops/minutes.
Protein Loss During Dialysis
- Muscle wasting affects about 18% – 75% of CKD patients undergoing maintenance dialysis.
- Each session of hemodialysis reduces the free AA levels in plasma by 30%, losing about 10 to 12 g of AA.
- Hemodialysis causes the loss of BCAA to a greater extent than AAA.
