An adult oxygen nasal prong, also known as a nasal cannula, is a medical device used to deliver supplemental oxygen to a patient through the nostrils. It consists of two small tubes, or prongs, that fit into the nostrils and are connected to an oxygen source, such as a concentrator or oxygen cylinder. The nasal prong is lightweight, comfortable, and allows patients to receive oxygen while still being able to speak and eat. It is commonly used for adults with respiratory conditions such as COPD, during post-surgical recovery, or in situations where low-flow oxygen therapy is required.
